End of Winter Hygge: A Weeklong Pop-Up Experience by Culture School

As winter lingers, let’s savor the cozy moments together! Stacey Grant Lewis, Founder of Culture School + Chair of the Ashland Cultural Council is bringing the culture of Hygge to Bird & Bear with a weeklong retail pop-up celebrating the season of connection, comfort, and culture.

Rooted in Danish tradition, Hygge is all about slowing down, embracing simple pleasures, and finding joy in togetherness. Across cultures, we all seek warmth in the colder months—through shared meals, soft layers, and moments that bring us closer. This experience invites us to explore how a tradition from one part of the world can be a unifying force, reminding us that comfort, community, and care are universal.

Wrap yourself in soft, snuggly essentials designed to keep you warm inside and out. Our curated collection of cold-weather fashion includes:

  • Plush cardigans that feel like a warm hug

  • Cozy sweatshirts perfect for fireside chats

  • Chic beanies to keep you stylishly snug

  • Handcrafted booties to keep your toes toasty

This is more than a shopping experience, this is a celebration of winter’s quiet joys— hot drinks, slow mornings, and gathering with loved ones. Stop by, discover your new favorite cozy piece, and embrace the art of wintertime well-being with us.

This pop-up experience is available for you to experience and shop during the Bird & Bear’s regular shop hours throughout the week (Mon: 10-4, Tues: 10-8, Wed: 10-8, Thurs, 10-8, Fri: 10-4, Sat 10-5 & Sun 11-4).

The pop-up will conclude with a relaxing Hygge experience on Sunday, February 16th between 11-1 that includes sipping tea, journaling + relaxing hand & chair massages.

RSVP for Sunday’s Hygge Experience (no charge to attend, visit anytime 11am-1pm)
