Why Bird & Bear Collective?

Over the next few weeks we reintroducing you to the Bird & Bear Collective. A lot happens here and we have had a pretty wild journey creating this space over the last few years. We just marked 3 years in the downtown location, so we thought it was a good time for a re-introduction!

We get asked this all the time “How come Bird & Bear? Why Collective? What does it mean?”

It’s one of my favorite things to talk about ~ especially since the name of the brand was created to inspire curiosity and conversation.

Bird & Bear is an intentional metaphor for inclusion and braving the wilderness. Collective represents the intersections that happen when our similarities, differences come together in the wild.

Just like you and me, birds and bears are very different beings. We differ in size, what we look like, where and how we live our lives.

• Big • Small

• Furry • Feathered

• Fly • Crawl

• Birds nest • Bears rest

• Bears explore • Birds soar

Just like you and me, birds and bears are are different yet we are braving the same wilderness through our own unique ways of nesting and resting, exploring and soaring.

This is why so many different types of things happen here. In the many we have created endless points of intersection, and as such are together creating a collective of intentional inclusion and belonging.

So that’s why the name. We may not talk about it much, and well that’s because we are busy just doing it. This is your wilderness and we are Birds & Bears braving it.
